I see so many cooking tips and I've always wanted to gather them for myself and find a way to share them with others. So I have decided to create a page to house the tips I come across. Drop me a line if you have any kitchen or cooking tips that you would like to share.
Here are a few tips from Carabba's restaurant:
- A wooden spoon across the top of your pasta pot will prevent the pot from boiling over.
- To know when pasta is perfectly cooked, break it and check to see if the core is white. If it is, it isn't ready!
- Once your pasta is cooked, add a glass of cold water to the pot before draining to stop the cooking.
- Pasta is best served from a warm bowl. To warm a serving bowl, put it in the sink and place the colander inside it. Drain the pasta into the colander and let the hot water drain into the bowl. Remove the colander, let the pasta drain, then empty the water from the bowl and put the pasta in.
